Acoustic Design
Lodestar Productions has been involved with several studio design and construction projects. We have designed commercial recording studios for STUDIO ONE, EASTLAKE STUDIOS, as well as our own LODESTAR STUDIOS. We have also designed personal studios for producers and artists such as DONNY OSMOND and LEX de AZEVEDO and others.

ACOUSTIC TIPS:
Key acoustic problems for consideration in constructing studios are:
(1) isolation between the CONTROL ROOM and the STUDIO,
(2) isolation between the studio spaces and the outside environment, AND
(3) the TIMBRE or COLOR of the sound inside the CONTROL ROOM and STUDIOS.
When a sound pressure wave arrives at a surface in the room it will either be reflected, diffracted, absorbed, or some combination of those things depending upon wavelengths. Each surface should be considered for how it affects the sound wave.
SYMMETRY is extremely important in the design and layout of the CONTROL ROOM. It is important the sound path lengths (both direct from speaker to listener and reflected sound) be equal on both sides of the listener for proper imaging in a stereo field.
Avoid PARALLEL surfaces and NINETY-DEGREE corners as much as possible in the STUDIO. The purpose of this is to avoid coloration of the sound by STANDING WAVES.
A studio that is too “dead” (i.e., has too much absorption) is not a nice place for music production.
Scores
Lodestar Productions has a team of experienced composers, songwriters, and production personnel to create attractive and successful scores for “industrial” videos or films (i.e., product presentations, training, trade shows, etc.) and “feature” films.
This team works under the direction of award-winning Composer/Producer JIM ANGLESEY. Our goal is to make each production maximize its impact in a natural and integrated way through the use of music.

THE MYSTIC OF MASADA, a promotional video for the MASADA EXHIBIT from Israel, touring Fine Arts Museums around the United States.

ELIJAH AND THE WIDOW OF ZAREPHATH, an award-winning Christian film by one of our artists, Alisa Anglesey, telling the Old Testament story.
